Recently, our agency has been informed of a scam related to health inspections.  The caller will identify themselves as a representative of the health department and request a credit card  payment of $25.00 or the facility will be required to come to the office for a meeting.   Please be aware that at no time will my agency contact you and request an immediate payment for any services.  We will always send an invoice along with a paid receipt for any services (such as food establishment license renewals).   Additionally, you always have the right and should ask for identification by any person stating that they work for Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department, Environmental Health prior to allowing the person access to your food establishment.   Please reach out to me if you have recently received a call such as this in the recent past or if you are unsure if an inspector is employed by Kalamazoo County.  Lastly, I recommend that you contact your local law enforcement agency if you have received a call such as this and have given out your credit card information.   Thank you, Vj
