It is required by OSHA.  See below.

The only suggestions I received was to keep the wash indoors and take it out to the collection shed when we’ll be working there.

We tried finding a formulation that would be more “winter proof” but were unsuccessful.

Since we recently had power installed out there, I’m going to check with facilities to see if it would be possible to place a small warming appliance out there – kind of like a reverse mini-fridge.

The OSHA requirements for emergency eyewashes and showers, found at 29 CFR 1910.151(c), specify that "where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate .

Jon,

Is it required to have an eye wash at the Recycling Center? I've heard the question posed and never answered. Did anyone offer a solution?

For those who have visited our collection center, you are likely aware that we don’t have a heated facility.  This is the coldest winter of my tenure and for the first time, our eye wash solution is frozen.

I’m wondering if anyone is in the same boat and has a suggested solution.
