Good morning and happy Monday! If you haven’t already
subscribed to our new weekly MI Environment Digest (last weeks is provided below), I’d encourage you to do so. We share some great information about our programs and the benefits they provide.
In the bulleting below, we shared details on our drug disposal map and why it’s important to participate in take back collections where possible. If you could help share this information electronically via your web resources, social media,
e-newsletters and community printed newsletters for those who rely on the print media, that would be very helpful. You can share the same message we provided if you want, and let folks know that anyone without access to electronics for finding takeback locations
can always call our Environmental Assistance Center at 1-800-662-9278 for help.
Have a great week and, as always, thanks for your support!

More than 400 residents attended a townhall meeting in Rockford on March 26, 2019, to learn from the MDEQ and the U.S. EPA about contamination from Wolverine World Wide tannery
in northern Kent County. The MDEQ and EPA presented data from environmental sampling of the Rockford tannery site and the House Street Disposal Area, and from over 1,700 area residential water wells, all collected over the last 18 months to characterize the
source areas of the contamination and determine the extent of the contaminated groundwater plumes.
