We are about the same size as Presque Isle and don't take appointments. We have about 250-300 cars go through from 9 am to 1 pm with plenty of volunteers along our flow through line.

Notice: It's OK to print this email. Paper is a biodegradable, renewable, sustainable product made from trees. Growing and harvesting trees provides jobs for millions of Americans. Well-managed forests are good for the environment and provide clean air and water, wildlife habitat and carbon storage.  Without strong markets for forest products, landowners can't afford to continue growing trees and will convert their land to uses much less environmentally friendly. Thanks to professional foresters, we have more volume in trees in America today than we had 50 years ago.

I am writing on behalf of one of our recycling partner counties: Presque Isle, population roughly 13,050.  They are planning their first HHW event (in at least a decade) for this summer and trying to decide whether to take appointments or not.

We have always taken appointments, so I don’t have much perspective to offer them in this regard.  If you represent a rural community that runs HHW events without appointments and you would be available to talk with them about your experience, please contact me.
