The MDEQ proudly presents the Waste Management & Regulations Webinar Series - a monthly webinar series highlighting specific topics associated with waste program regulations. The webinars are introductory in nature, free, and feature firsthand experience from the MDEQ’s Office of Waste Management and Radiological Protection (OWMRP).


Radon in Real Estate

This webinar will benefit anyone interested in radon and real estate including property owners, property managers, REALTORS®, real-estate appraisers, and home inspectors.  In this webinar, attendees will learn the origins of radon, health effects from radon exposure, and how radon travels through the ground and enters into buildings. This webinar will also provide information on how to test for radon, how to interpret radon test results, and how radon can be captured and removed from existing structures.

The MDEQ Indoor Radon program also distributes radon test kits and publications. The radon test kits are distributed to local health departments who offer them to the public for a discounted fee. Examples of radon publications available from the MDEQ for FREE include:
