Hello HHW family,
My apologies for any cross-postings. In case you are not already on the Pharmwaste listserv, I wanted to share this email and the attached report that includes Cook County’s efforts to pass a pharmaceutical Extended

Subject: [Pharmwaste] Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago - Commissioner Shore's Annual Report, Safe Med Disposal Update
Dear Pharma Listserv:
Attached is the 2016 annual report Commissioner Shore just completed. The first several pages provide an overview of Cook County’s efforts to pass a pharmaceutical EPR bill. There’s a shout-out to those of us who helped them pass their drug take-back ordinance
including the National Stewardship Action Council
and Alameda County
Supervisor Miley on page five.
We look forward to helping any county that wishes to consider an ordinance for safe medicine disposal where producers share the cost of the program. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if interested in how to do it. California has 8 ordinances
already and three more in process and are happy to share our knowledge with others as we have with Cook County.
