HHW collection - cans and spraysSites that collect household or small business unwanted materials like solvents, medications, used oil, light bulbs, batteries and electronics for the purpose of diverting them from landfill disposal are subject to unique requirements under Michigan’s waste regulations. These collection sites must be licensed unless 1) the materials could have been lawfully landfilled, 2) the materials are collected safely and in accordance with the regulations, and 3) they are diverted to an environmentally preferred management option.
