Good Afternoon-
The prospective impact of new legislation stemming from Gov. Snyder’s initiative to increase Michigan’s recycling rate is substantial. On behalf of the Southwest Michigan Solid Waste Consortium, I have attached a save-the-date invitation
to attend a forum featuring a Changes to Michigan Part 115 Legislation –
Update. The event will be held at Kalamazoo Valley Community College in Classroom 5830 on Wednesday, March 21 at 6:30pm.
This proposed legislation will impact:
• County Board of Commissioners
• Township Boards
• City Councils
• Solid Waste Planning Committee
• Material Management Planning
• Material Management Facilities
Attached is the latest draft of the proposed legislation, Draft 4 is in the works and should roll out in early April, but we should be talking about it! SWMSWC anticipates the release of an additional draft prior to this event. Please
review the current draft legislation. More details about this event will follow.
We look forward to your attendance!
Please RSVP to
alison.brucks@mi.nacdnet.net.
We look forward to seeing you.
Please feel free to forward this information on to other municipality/solid waste/recycling constitutes, we hope to get the word out throughout SW Michigan.
Best regards,
AJ
